2012 lariat 4wd / 5.0 / levelled


I have an unknown noise that sounds like it is coming from front driver side. It’s worse at 50-55mph, rarely hear it at other speeds. Has a weird almost buzzing vibration in the steering wheel and it’s intermittent. I recently changed the IWE and wheel bearing, that noise was masking this noise I hear now. Noise happens in both 2&4wd

I also tried the blinker switch, I’ve heard of that causing noises. I don’t know if what I did with the switch was the right way to ‘fix’ it but it definitely did not help.

Joe, I sent you a message about the noise possibility but not sure it went thru ?
Some of the diagnostic path will depend on whether you have the Torque On Demand or the Shift On Fly transfer case.

 

I had this EXACT noise... it’s the airbag contacts... While driving grab the top of the airbag and pull towards you. It will go away, confirming that’s the noise. Mine quit doing it after I swapped tires.

 

I did read one article on the airbag bushing, it’s that what you’re talking about?

Ive tried replicated the noise while in park but I’ve had no luck.
