Help with rust spots on 2010 Platinum
I have 4 small chips on the driver side of my 2010 Platinum with white tricoat. I noticed the rust leaching into a halo in the road grime this winter. Anyways I just cleaned and waxed at the time but now that I have cleaned my truck again this is what it looks like.

Not the best picture but you can kind of see where the paint is starting to bubble a quarter of an inch around it. This would be the worst of the four. I've been looking at touch up videos online and thought this one would give the best result.
Does anyone have any experience with the tricoat touch up paint from Ford? I've heard it doesn't match well. I read on one forum guys had success with tricoat products from here.

Just looking for some tips. What is the best way to get ride of the rust before I touch up. How do I tell how far the rust goes under the paint? Do I have to mechanically remove the rust or are there good rust remover products?
Thanks for any feedback.

Go to Ace hardware or similar and pick up a small bottle of Ospho. Its a rust converter that is safe to use in small quantities on paint. It will clean the rust off the paint and if you get it damp enough will get under the paint and seal off the bubble. Before you paint use real denatured alcohol (not the diluted walgreens stuff) and clean the area well to get as much moisture out as you can. Chip the paint back until its not flaking any more and then scuff that edge to do the touch up.
If you're worried about the paint matching, I'd rather have a mismatched blemish than a hole.
