I very much doubt that this truck's payload is over 1800 based on the specs you gave. That is based on the shopping I did and my truck, which has many similar specs to the one above. Doubt it is rated for 11k towing, either.

The truck sounds just fine. I prefer the V8, but I don't get involved in religious arguments.

Fuel mileage is one of the main complaints around here. I get around 16.5 in town and about the same on the interstate going 70/75

Rick,

I was able to look at the yellow sticker on the door and it said. 1518 lbs.

Thanks for the info.

You're on the mark with the sticker. My Max Tow optioned truck is 1507 lbs.

There is a Heavy-Duty Payload Package option (GVWR 8200), but that option isn't ever found in conjunction with the Max Tow option.

The HDPP includes 7 lug wheels, 9.75" ring/pinion gear set, among other items. Payload on these trucks ranges from 2310 lbs on a 3.5 SC 4x4 6.5 bed to 3120 lbs on a regular cab 5.0 4x2 8 ft bed.

Ford does state the maximum trailer conventional two rating for your truck is 11,100. This per the specifications in the 2013 brochure. IMHO if having to tow this load with any frequency I wouldn't consider an LD truck. There's less risk in towing an 11k load using an HD truck. Issue I can see that's likely often overlooked in running out of payload trailering 11k. It doesn't take much to go past 1500 lbs payload. Tongue weight 500-700, 400 lbs passengers, 200 lbs gas and with nothing in the bed you are right there on the cusp.

If your looking to actually tow an 11k trailer. An HD truck should be the consideration.

Now I'm sure you'll get a number of people stating that they've towed that amount or more in a F-150 and it did fine. The heavier the truck exudes greater stability and comfort while at speed and when maneuvering is easily perceived. It's difficult to measure or quantify it with a statistic. But it is present and those of us that have towed with both LD and HD trucks know and appreciate the differences.

Subtract anything you add to the truck. Bedmat, bedliner, floor mats. Subtract everyone in it. Subtract all cargo. Subtract weight distribution hitch.

Divide what is left by 13% to know max wet/loaded trailer you can tow.

Oh, and tell the dealer he is FOS...

Gas is included in payload number...

Scroll down to the bottom of the link. To get the 3100 lbs payload it has to be an 8' bed on a regular cab 4X2 with no other options to increase vehicle weight.

On your truck around 1500-1900lbs is going to be the max payload.
