Default Help Please

I have 1 2010 F-150 FX4 which I used to help out a fellow traveler by jump starting their vehicle and now mine has issues. I did the correct procedure of hooking up the disable vehicle first and then to mine and once started reversed the procedure and drove away. I quickly noticed that I had no radio, compass or odometer lights. I found the fuse replaced it and it immediately blew. I then noticed that the guages speed, oil, rpm etc are not working. Does anyone have a suggestion on what my next move could be to fix the problem.

Thanks,

I am going to guess you had your truck running while cranking the other vehicle? I have always heard this is a no no and could surge the electrical current which damages the car your using to jumpstart.

I hope it isn't to bad! Sucks you were trying to be helpful and this happened.

If the fuse blows as soon as you put it in, you have a short to ground on that circuit. Start unplugging items on the circuit until it stops blowing.

This is the opposit of what I have know and done for many years! You could actually mess up your battery by trying to jump without truck running.

I have no answer for ya though as it could be the canbus system going screwy. Hope you figure it out.

I have jumped people with my truck and there was no problems, coicidence maybe?
