Default Help me choose - 2012 F-150 or 2014 F-150

I'm in a bit in a conundrum. I'm selling my 2004 F-150 to get a newer one F-150 Platinum. I would really appreciate your input as to which is the better value both are super crew short boxes . It will be a daily driver with occasional light to medium towing. I we to be forward thinking and consider future resell. Frankly, i really don't know change there have been from 12 to 14. Both have the same economist engine. The trucks are follows. I have also attach the window sticker for each.

2012 $37,700 highlights: black/pecan
- 22k miles
- max tow package.
- 528A package - loaded
- bed liner
- NAV
- bed extension

2014 $38,850 highlights: Gray/Black
- 9k miles
- NO max tow package.
- 700A equipment group
- NO NAV
- NO sunroof
- No bed liner
- No bed extension

2012 with 22K miles

2014 with 9K miles

You wont like the 3.31 open rear end........ I just put a limited slip in mine, I still have the 3.31 but I prefer 3.55 or 3.73 especially for towing.

Me I like the newer truck if you care about resale value but just FYI you can take about 10 K off ford's MSRP. Both of those trucks sound expensive to me

Both are fair priced. I'd go '14 as it has a few advantages over 12. '13 added a few things... If the 12 was 3-4k cheaper then I'd go '12

Seems to me you'd be getting far more with the 2012, personally I would go with that over the '14.

go with the 14, I think they fixed the AC's after they messed them up in 13 and down.

I would always say go with the newer truck but there are some things on the 12 that makes it better if you ask me.

2012 Pros = Nav, Sunroof, 3.73 Gears Cons = More miles
2014 Pros = HID, 2yrs Newer, Nicer Dash, Less Miles Cons = 3.31, Less GVWR(Your only talking 450# difference in GVWR)

Wait now that im looking at it more the 2014 DOES HAVE NAV! Look under interior options.

I would go with the 2014 newer, less miles, hid lights. The 3.73 of the 12 are the only advantage. But if you don't tow often, the ecoboost will be fine with the 3.31
