13/16 closed end wrench and a 8mm I just did this on my buddies truck Two days ago

It is simple, the ball joint shaft and steering knuckle mating surfaces are tapered, prying down to keep the shaft snug to the knuckle will allow you to remove the nut, or you can hold the nut with a wrench and use a socket on the end of the ball joint shaft to remove the nut.


Don't over think it.

Reverse the removal process. One way or the other you will need to pry down on the upper control arm enough to get the nut started on the ball joint, then just wrench her up.

Well got those out but don't have big enough tools to break the lower bolt holding the strut on.

Well that sucks. Looks like an impact gun is in your future.

Adjustable wrench and a breaker bar lol I didn't have one either but it worked so I can't complain plus I didn't wanna spend the money for one impact socket
