Default Help with code P0451

2014 F-150. 3.7 V6. Engine light came on, I took it to the parts store to have them diagnose the code but they couldn't tell me what it meant. I hate to go to the dealer and spend a ton of money. Any ideas what this is? Thank you very much

According to the repair manual, it deals with the evap system. What symptoms are you experiencing?

Thank you for your reply. The only symptom I have is the light. Just the engine light is on. The truck runs fine.

The P0451 DTC is related to the FTP sensor and its circuit. It will NOT affect vehicle operation, it's only related the federally-required emissions compliance. IOW, if you're subject to mandatory emissions testing, you will have to fix it.

This *might* be covered under the 8/80 federal emissions performance warranty, if you're still eligible. If you're not over 80K miles (70K in California), it's something to check into.
