Default Help choosing tires

Hi,

I'll be replacing a 2011 XLT with LT tires (stock) for a 2012 FX4 with 20 inches wheels.

This FX4 will be used as a truck so it will see dirt and do some medium duty towing (6500lbs 5th wheel) occasionally. Of course it will spend most of his time on the road (or in my driveway!) without trailer.

I will be replacing the stock P rated tires with LT tires. I do not want to lift of level it (because of the trailer) but I would like good looking agressive LT tires. I was also hoping to go a bit bigger/wider but I'm not sure if this wil work with the stock wheels without lift.

What do you think?

BFG, Nitto, Toyo and Michelin make LT tires in the stock sizes or a little larger 275x55x20, 275x60x20 or 285x55x20. With gas prices climbing it's better to stay with a stock or slightly larger size tire.

So Nitto Terra Grappler 285x55r20 will fit with no rubbing? It looks like this is the smaller (diameter) 20 inches LT from Nitto

Those will fit no problem. PawPaw ran 305/55/20 (33") on stock wheels with no leveling kit. He later added the leveling kit just for a better stance, and his truck looks fantastic.

Thanks

That gives me a lot of options then.
