I'm curious as I have been reading a lot of suggestions that due to the weight of aftermarket wheels and tires they are the main reason for losing mpg's. Although I'm starting to think that the weight difference may not be that much. I do know that aggressive tread patterns kill mpg due to rolling resistance.
Nah! Much better to get subjective opinions with no basis on fact here... I suspect that 99.9% of purchasers of aftermarket wheels don't weigh them and don't have a clue. But it's clearly impacting fuel economy, so your research is a good idea.

I went to DiscountTire.com and found weights listed for every wheel they sell. I looked at a few, and going from 18 to 20 was about 4 pounds. Tire weights are listed also.
