Question Heated Seat Question???

So obviously its winter again and I absolutely love it...hockey season <3...anyways to my point. I bought my 2010 FX4 a few months ago and love it. Its a big upgrade from my 2006 XLT. I enjoy the heated seats but hate getting into my truck after remote starting it and having cold seats. My drive to work is only 5-10 mins depending on traffic and they take a few mins to kick in...now heres my question. Is there any way to get my heated seats to come on automatically if I leave them on when I turn my truck off instead of running outside to turn them on really quick??? I know, I'm a little lazy

Is it a factory remote start or aftermarket?
If its aftermarket you could get this done. Could hook it up to an external output on the remote start that will trigger the heated seats.
If its OEM I don't think you can.

I have my girlfriend go out about 10 minutes early and sit in the drivers seat. (She wants to get married, but probably not to me.)

Well you 2009 owners and we 2010 owners are out of luck, but Ford has heard our cries, and for the 2011 models, the remote start will also activate the heated seats.

I have an aftermarket remote start and when it was installed I asked them to hook it up so I could turn them on. They researched it for a while and could not figure it out. I'm not sure if it can be done or not.

Unhappy

Damn......thanks for the help guys. My truck came with a two way titan starter system so ill have to take it in to a place that sells titan and see if i can just upgrade the factory system and make that an option. Im really wishing i would have waited for the 11s now...they have the EB motor and what seems to me like more kit(with that lcd dash and stuff)...oh well my 10 will do just fine...once its paid off im going for the powerstroke i think...Thanks again for the help guys

yes, it can be done, and rather easily too, with most aftermarket remote starters..

there is usually a lead called "ground out while running", which can be used to trigger a relay. Then, that can in turn be used to control the defroster, heated seat (or seats !!), wipers, whatever your lil' heart desires....

let me check the 2010 wiring diagrams and let you know a bit more detail... In the meantime, figure out if your remote starter has the "ground out" feature...

Let's see, Edminton, Ontario, Manitoba, North Dakota. What's the common thread among all the members who are interested in ways to keep their butts warm?
