Heated Mirrors
I know I'll get the "use the search button" answer, but I have to tell you I tried and got a million hits, so I thought I would try this.
I have a 2011 Harley F-150 and I think it's supposed to have heated mirrors. I had a F-350 HD and that had a little heated mirror symbol so I knew. I have seen some things where it will tell me that it's supposed to have them, but I still have frosty mirrors in the morning.
My question is... Do I have the hardware behind the glass that will support the heated mirror glass if I get it. They are the folding mirror type. If I don't is it hard to wire them up to the rear defroster, and has anyone done it?
Just some thoughts if there is a way I can make it work, and if there is a retrofit kit.
Thanks in advance.

In the old truck I didn't have to turn them on. It was automatic as far as I know.
There are about a thousand more switches in this thing than was in my old truck. I'm still finding out things it does and I've had it 8 months.

If you have heated mirrors, there should be 2 symbols on the rear defrost button. One is a rear defrost symbol and the other is a mirror symbol. The same botton activates both funtions at once.
According to the 2011 order guide, you should have them.

This. Don't people keep the owners manual in the truck anymore?
I looked at the owners manual. It doesn't have two symbols listed, but it also says that "if" equipped that the switch operates both. The switch in the manual doesn't have both on it, as it's the complicated one and the switch isn't big enough.

Here's a blow-up of your owner's manual page, you can see the two different symbols.
If you have the rectangle with the squiggly lines with the "R" next to it (which you should), it is the combined rear window and mirror defrost. Without the "R" is just heated mirrors.
The manual is only 461 pages, but my copy of "War and Peace" is 1456 pages, so the owner's manual is shorter by a long shot, but I will agree that is it difficult to read and sometimes not well organized.
You'd think that with the computer and printing technology, that the owner's manual could be tailored to the vehicle, so there would not be any sections that say "if equipped". The manual for your truck would cover only those things in your truck and not the options that are not there. so if it's not in your manual ,then you don't have it.
