Default Heat through defroster when directed to floor

I have a 2010 F150 XLT with single zone climate control. This is the first Ford product that I have ever purchased and I have been driving over 30 years. My question is when I push the multi-function HVAC control to direct heat to the floor only, it seems that at least 50% of the supply goes to the defroster vents. Is that normal operation to reduce window fogging or should I have the dealer look at it when I hit my 7500 service interval?

I have noticed some air still does go through the defroster, I am not sure if I would say it is 50% though.

The newer GM trucks seem to do this also. There is a term for it that I cant recall, but for windshield defogging.

My Mustang and 2010 F150 also do this. Sounds a little like the defroster is stuck on, but looks to by design.

What really bothers me is there is always heat going to my feet no mater what setting its on. If its on defrost it should only be there not blowing at my feet to. If i wear my winter boots to work my feet are soaking wet when I get to work and then outside all day = frozen feet fast.

Yeah mine always directs air to the floor too, but it only bothers me in the summer when I drive barefoot (or with sandals) with the AC on. My right foot ends up frozen when the rest of the cab is comfortable.

I always wore my street shoes while driving and put my work boots under the heater outlet.
