Default Heads Up to Everyone

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up about this because its something i never would have thought of. Everyone who has illuminated vanity mirrors should check behind them, today i found my passenger vanity mirror ( which is never used) to be really hot , turns out the lightbulb that is suppose to turn off when the flap is closed has been on for god knows how long causing the whole mirror, flip cover, and visor to become really hot. the culprit is that the little white button that gets pushed in when the cover is down wasn't snapped into place just had to push it in until it snapped into place and the problem is solved, went ahead and checked my drivers side and same thing the button wasn't snapped in place . so just wanted to give everyone a heads up to check this as it could be a fire hazard mine caused some plastic to melt on the backside but otherwise everything is okay. to take the vanity mirror off its very easy just slide that frosted plastic cover off the light and there are 2 small screws holding the mirror in place just remove those and the whole mirror slides off just be cautious there are 2 wires attached to it. hope this helps someone out before something potentially bad happens .

I had a similar thing happen just the other day, I just ended up putting something in to push the button down further, but good to know there's an actual fix for it.
