Default Head liner insulation question...

When it rains, it becomes very loud inside the cabin due to the pounding rain on the sheet metal roof. The headliner doesn't seem to provide much sound insulation and I'd like to fix that.
Has anyone removed theirs and installed aftermarket insulation between the metal and headliner? If so, what type and how was it accomplished?

Thanks in advance.

I have thought about this as well. Very loud for sure. Nothing some dynamat wouldn't fix. Just don't think I want to dive into doing this, sure the sunroof isn't going to make it easy.

I'm pretty mechanically inclined...but hate delving into dismantling interiors unless I know what I'm getting into. I'm mainly concerned about the side curtain airbags and possibly ruining something.
How is the headliner removed?

Me to, I do ALL my own work but never wanted to do jump into removing the head liner. Maybe one day.
