Can you tell me if I need to removed the nav system from the dash, or just the whole dash as one assembly? Some of the videos show them taking pretty much the whole dash apart piece-by-piece, while some just seem to take out the bolts on the sides, top, and bottom and remove the whole thing together. I'm ok going either way, but I really don't want to do more than necessary.

I don't have nav, I just have the basic Sync system, but I didn't have to take any of the radio apart to get the dash out.

And then packages it up in a nice PDF file. So they are kinda working as my agent. I'm not a lawyer, so I can't say if that is legal or not.
Greetings. I come from the world of VW's with Bentley brand Service Manuals being the preferred manual. I like to do all my maintenance on my vehicles, and I like be as thorough as I can be. (see my VW's maintenance tracking thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php… ) I'd like to start something similar for my new to me F150 and am looking for the best service manual to use.

Are there any advantages in spending the extra money for the Helm Manual (~$170) over buying the cheaper "Factory Manuals" version (~$60)?

Thanks.

The new to me truck.

I've never seen a Helm manual, so I can't compare, but I've just about got my dash out (waiting on my kids to get home from school so that they can help me lift it out). I've gotten this far using the manual I got through Factory Manuals. I'm pretty happy with it. I believe it is the one the Ford techs use, so that is good enough for me.
