Default IMPORTANT UPDATE ! - Have a case at Ford for the USB/Sync issue...

Since I've seen no action from ford/Microsoft on the USB/Sync "voice command not available with this device" issue, I called Ford and opened a case on it. The rep said it will take 24 to 48 hours for the investigation.

Will update on news.

It's not for a phone, it's for the use of USB Thumb Drives as the music source. I suspect if a phone has the problem, it's due to the same issue though.

It's been 2 weeks and no return calls. I guess I need to call back.

Since then I've also found that using sync to call up a track on the jukebox is also busted. It will never, ever play the right track. Artist and album is ok.

I'm convinced this is all due to an indexing bug in sync 3.2.

Ok, I received a call back from Ford Support today.

They have identified the problem with SYNC and USB, and they expect a SYNC update to be published in the next 2-3 weeks to correct it.

So, for now, quit fighting it until the update comes out

I hope it works. I've been feeding it CD's to copy to the JukeBox. Man, what a boring-***, slow, painful job that is

Once USB is fixed I won't care about the Jukebox any more.

What pisses me off about the jukebox is that 90% of the CDs we feed it come up as "unknown artist" and "unknown track". We have to type them all in manually, which is incredibly tedious AND can't be done unless you're stopped. It's basically useless as is. It works, yeah, but it just pisses me off.

And just to think, a few short years ago you would have to go to the trunk to change the next 6 cd's!

No, I'd have listened to FM broadcast. CD changers were never worth the money.

So do Sync updates get downloaded via the Sirius link, or do we need to see our friendly dealer for that? I do remember getting an email for my wife's '10 Fusion Hybrid system and installing an update from a USB drive on that.
