Twice in the last 3 months my drivers door locked has been punched in. Tearing up the handle surround and everything else. I have never used the key to open the door. Always the keyfob or the keypad on the door. I'm looking for ways to keep these bastards from tearing my truck up. Each time it costs me $500.

How to stop criminal activity?

Park it in the garage, or into a secure area of the property. This is the only way to mitigate the activity. The rest are reactive, during or after an incident. Invest, install, operate video surveillance. There's also vehicle motion or proximity sensors that can be installed.

Oh I've got guns. I've got plenty of guns! The problem is, neither time was it at my house, nor was I near the truck. What I'm asking is, is there something that can be installed to keep them from busting the lock.

Here is one option. To date I haven't had any issues with this, since buying my truck back in 2011, so I have had no need so far. But if I did I think I would go this way.

Had this happen to me back in my civic days and to be honest it's probably the worst way to try and break into a modern car. They never got in but I learned a lesson, if your going to park in a sketchy area, don't stick out as much.

It sucks, I know, believe me. I had a cf hood, nice wheels, hks exhaust, beautiful stereo, the whole shebang. And after this incident, I dialed it down a bit. This happened in my high schools lot that butted up next to low income housing project.

About 20 cars total were damaged and all of them looked like they were modified so it sucks but maybe you need to dial back your aesthetics so you're not in the ol'robber radar...

Thought about this before but the problem I see that they would still mess up truck trying to get in. Just stinks that this is such a well known problem.

This company also makes a Gate Keeper which makes it take much more time to try to steal your tailgate...easy to install (no drilling)
