Default Has anyone removed the C clamps from 2013 XLT grill?

From playing around a little with pictures, I wonder what the C-clamp grill would look like with only the = left on it. Or maybe painting the mesh/grid and C's black and leaving the = chrome. Or remove the = from your grill, replace the entire insert with a black mesh, and adding the = back on top of the new mesh. Has anyone tried it yet?

Not for sure if you took yours off or not. But it would not look good without the C-clamps or the = using the stock center section. It is molded to the c-clamp and the =. I'm getting ready to paint my stock center section black and then put the = and c-clamps back in place. I picked up a color matching outer frame. Originally I was going to go with a total black center section, but I don't think it looks good with a chrome front bumper which I have no plans to change. Painted bumpers kind of suck if you use your truck for hunting and drive through tall brush.
