Question Has anyone noticed?

So brought my 13 FX4 in today to have the rear seal on my transmission replaced because there was a slight leak. When I got it back I now have when in Drive the current gear shows on the right of the screen. That wasnt there before so I assume I got an PCM update???

That's shown since my '13 was new. You can toggle it on and off with the manual + and - on the gear lever. While you are in drive

Nope, it's there and has always been there... I had the same question last year and my salesman showed it to me in the parking lot.
While in drive just toggle your manual + - buttons.
If you mean that maybe the tech pressed and toggled the buttons then yes maybe he did. But it is not any kind if PCM, TCM update.

Yes it will stay active even on shutdown and restart.

On a side note: if it is not showing all 6 gears on the side bar then you are locking out those gears that are not showing ( hope that make sense)
You can have
123456 showing
12345 no 6th gear available
1234 no 5th & 6th fear available

I remember the part about locking out just not that you can have it display gears without locking anything out. Thanks!

I have a 2011, I have it. On your shifter, above your tow haul mode button, there is a + / - toggle. Press + it will go out, press + again it will re-appear. If you press - you can down shift/lock out gears. That is, if you press - 3x until you only see 1 2 3, your truck will automatically shift until 3rd gear and hold 3rd gear until you press +.
