Has anyone installed a power subwoofer
I was wondering if anyone has installed a powered subwoofer in a screw and tapped into the rear speaker wires vs removing the head unit? If so do you know what color the wires are I have a 2012

I did on my 2013 and it was recommended to tap into the front speaker wire as the rear speaker signal is weaker then the front, tap into the wire on the passenger side behind the kick panel. Your sub input wires may be a different color than what these instructions talk about so ignore that but the trucks wiring color is correct. I put in a Kicker self powered sub and that's what color they are on my sub input.

Oh and just tuck your wires to the rear into the channel under the sill plates and carpet.

There's a rather large thread around here with the color of wires to use under the passenger door kicker plate.

I just installed a powered sub and tapped the speaker wires running under the driver’s side door sill: pop off the scuff plate and you’ll find the wires bundled together. Check the picture below for the wire colors...
You want the white-green and the brown-yellow for the driver’s side. I only tapped the driver’s side and haven’t had any issues, the sub sounds fine with a single signal.

I ran my power wire through the large grommet in the firewall on the driver’s side, so I tapping the speaker wires on that side kept me from having to remove anything on the passenger side

Since I’m hooking up to my stock stereo it came with a harness with 4 wires does that mean I have to tap into speakers on both right and left sides
