Default Has anyone installed additional tie downs in the bed?

Has anyone installed additional tie downs in the bed?

i did a search and came up with threads with hundreds of posts, but didn’t see what wanted.

Anyway, I want to add 4 tie downs above the stock locations and below the bed rails. Would it work to drill holes and install new factory tie downs with a fender washer on the back side to prevent pull out damage?

Tasca has the factory tie downs for $3.45 each.

Thanks!

Other members turned me onto the bullrings that fit in the stake holes. They’re reasonably priced, sit flush and under a tonneau cover.

Thats my inquiry thread, search my name for my build thread for a couple pics of them installed. They look great

Thanks. I hadn’t thought about something like the bull rings. I’ll have to check my truck with a tonneau cover and the 5.5 bed for the removable caps.

Don't drill into the bed and use fender washers. It won't work for long.

Buy bull rings or if you have a 6.5' bed you can tap the stock holes for the cargo management system and add custom tiedowns.

I just have my kids sit back there and hold stuff. They're getting pretty strong, now!

If I’m looking at the right ones, it appears the 4055 and 4056 Bull Ring hold downs for the ‘14 with the 5’ bed have a metal ring around it, unlike Morris’ which are all black.

Its goofy, but I like the all black.

So get the all black ones. 5.5’ bed should be part number 4028

The 5' bed will require cutting the top rail plastic to install them, there's a kit out there that comes with a router bit for doing the job and make it look oem. I have the 6' bed so all I had to do was remove the covers.

Love em.

When needed

When not in use.
