Possibly, was just clarifying....didn't want anyone to get up false hopes...

buying the warranty @ 35,500 gives you the SAME warranty as buying it at 10 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! while it is cheaper to buy it with less than 12,000 miles......Buying it at 35,500 IS NOT extending it any longer.

Your 7 year 100,000 mile warranty is just that, 7 years or 100,000 miles....whichever comes first. Buying it later DOES NOT add 2 1/2 years to the warranty like you are saying.

I suggest you read your contract, Your logic is wrong!
You misunderstood my point. The extended warranty, as you correctly stated, is for 7 years (from in service date) or 100,000 total original miles.

But your (free) new truck warranty is for 3 years/36,000 miles. So what you are really paying for is an ADDITIONAL 4 years/64,000 miles BEYOND the free warranty you get.

So the question becomes, do you pay when you buy the truck for something that is not going to take effect and you are not going to benefit from for 3 years/36,000, or do you wait like I did, until just before your free new truck warranty is about to expire?

In other words, do you give Ford your money now, or do you keep your money and give it to them in three years? If by paying now you get a significant discount, it may be worth it, but for me I decided to keep my money when I bought the truck and pay a little more later.

Ok, you understood the way it works, just a bit confusing the way you worded it! :-)
Didn't want anyone to think it worked any other way.

there are three tiers of pricing on an ESP before the factory warranty runs out.
0-12000
12001-24000
24001-26000

the lower mileage tiers do offer a discount of about $100 from one group to another.
Also, ESP prices seem to go up about $100 each year (that I've been monitoring).

I got a refund on an ESP from my chevy, so I just turned around and gave it to ford, so I saved a few bucks along the way.
