Has anybody upgraded to the new Navteq 6.0 maps?
I'm just wondering if anybody has spent the $200 to upgrade their nav maps to the latest edition (6.0)? If you have, can you explain what the new additions to your screen are compared to the older versions? Also, do you feel it was worth the cost to upgrade? I have a 2012 with map edition 4.1 (I think) and I'm just trying to decide if it's worth the time and money to to it...
Thanks

Since you mentioned it, it peaked my interest as well. I did a search and found this:

Scroll down and there is a post on what it updates. The maps are a year old in the update.
FWIW it adds speed limit info for other major roads besides interstates, but I have a Valentine 1 for that .
I have 4.1 as well. What does the 2013 have?

Not worth the cost. I'm waiting for a geek to get it, hack it and put it up on torrents. Probably have a new truck with mft before that happens though, lol

I would also like to know the same thing...I have a 2010 f150 with maps v2.0 (never upgraded). Are there any changes to the interface...look & feel...or is it just the maps alone that get upgraded? If it's just roads/maps then not worth it for me. Thx!!

It's *almost* exclusively things you won't "see". It does add more speed info, updates the Grace Note program, obviously updates your maps but don't expect new lane assist or better interfaces. It'll *look* mostly the same as it does today. I'm with you ... kinda makes it not worth it.

My SHO was less than 3 months old when I received a notice for Nav upgrades for only about $200!!! The car Nav is not user friendly for me. I changed to Iphone apps such as MapQuest and Maps that can be had for free. Updates are free also. These seem to be more user friendly to me and do the navigating very well. They also have voice commands for hands free operation. Have traveled across the states using these apps and there are places where service is not available - these are few and only a couple of miles until more service is available. Will never buy another built in Nav in a vehicle.
