so what if your out and about, you see something you want, but you need your full box or over the height of the box, then what make 2 trips???......naaa there a pain in ***, my buddy has one needs 2 people to take it off just to balance it, then has to take the time to store it properly so it won't get marked up or scratched.

Mine i do 3 flips on it to the cab I lock it in place and drive away! under 30 seconds, with what ever I bought say at costco.......LOL......It does not leak, I can walk on top of it I think it hasa rating of 400lbs, only thin I don't like is you can't color match them but the black looks great as it is.....

Each to there own on this thread, depands on your purpose! if it sjust a street crawler and don't haul anything then great!, but I doubt that!

Cheers

A company named Armor Lid ,www.armorlid.com , used to produce tonneau covers that were Undercover-esqe but cheaper.

They have now been discontinued, which means the ones you find now should be VERY affordable.

When I bought mine 5 years ago it was a factory blem and i think it ran me 299.99 plus 100 in freight charges. It is still looking mighty fine to date.

It holds 500+ pounds for the pro model, and the canister takes up just under 12x12 inches at the top front of the box and there is room underneath much like a toolbox hanging from the rails only this has more room underneath, so I guess if you are trying to haul something thats taller than the box sides and more than 4 feet long with the tail gate up you might have an issue if you have the short bed, however most people just put the tailgate down and have no problems. Your scenario is very rare and Ive never encountered hauling anything that I couldnt move back 12 inches, but like you say, depends on your purpose. I haul things all the time, but I have the 6 1/2 box, this is the next cover I will be getting for sure. It is the best one on the market, but its spendier than most at around 1000-1500$ i think which turns a lot of people off, but you gotta pay for the best!

I haul and move stuff all the time so mine fits my Purpose, I have a double lot lots of trees, doing reno's on our house, my grandsons quad, camping gear, plus Im on disablilty from a car accident so have nerve and muscle damage. so for me to take a shell off a truck wouldn't work and have to tryand store it myself........and the roll top ones lots of problems with them, buddies had them now ther all doing the Flip ones....In our area with cedar trees and pine trees, those needles play havic .......anyway......I was big on the canister roll tops till I see after a few years they started to mess up, was an easy answer for me........and BAK flip makes them too, so I bought for my purpose, time will tell if these stand up too.....

Cheers!

Fair enough, however he asked for the best so I told him! This one is the best roll top out there, it doesn't touch itself when it rolls up unlike the cheaper ones, they stand up to ice and snow in ND.

I don't like the way those bak flips block the whole window when they fold up, I like to be able to see my load so I know its still there, haha! Used to have a sport trac with a flip cover, opened from the front or back and easy to remove, that was awesome.

I am going with the Diamondback SE with Linex. I like the rugged look and the way I can put things on top.

okokok hahahaha we are going in circles here hahaha but love the chat!
the New Bak ones claim the same thing, snow Ice, I do like the roll up one they have, but there we get back into not being able to use the the whole box at teh front of it, and I don't like it looks like a soft top tonneau cover, Im picky on looks hahahahaha

I live in Lower vancouver BC sooooooo where I live I might get 2 weeks of snow then back to rain Im about 20 min from the washington border, im away from the mountians and in a sun belt area, but if I was working all over the Province or canada like I use too, I would have bought top of the line.

yes the cover you had I like those, but I was going through my ford dealer and there supplier and I had to get what they had in stock, or wait 6 weeks, and I wasn't waiting.lol......plus I saved500.00 and being on disablity thats huge for me.lol......my dealer rocked all the accessories I put on my truck they gave me there dealer Price and apo # so I saved a boat load, just because being in my situation, So I probally would have went with the roll up or the ones you can drive a quad on. My neighbour as the one you can drive up on side ways, he is a plummer and loves the dual access and toughness.

haha thanks for the reply's....lol

cheers
Grant
