Default Hard to shift into park

Just purchased my truck used with only 45,000 miles on it last week. Today was the first time using the 4 wheel drive for an extended period of time. I drove for about 20 minutes this morning in 4 hi since the roads had not been plowed. I get to my final destination and try and put the truck into park and it wouldn't move. I pretty much had to slam it into park. Drove the truck home and no problem at all putting it into park. I didn't drive the entire way home in 4 hi. I did go back to 2wd. Is this an issue I should take to the dealer to look at? Any info would be great. I did a search but didn't see anything similar to this.

Welcome to the forum, Jdback42! It wouldn't hurt to have your dealership take a look and make sure everything is okay. Which model year is your truck?
