Default Hard 4th downshift while towing!

I have been doing some work out of town and having to haul a 16 foot enclosed trailer around. 2500lbs empty and around 6000 full. The problem I have is when I have to downshift to 4th going up really steep hills and some jerk cuts me off when I have a good run going and have to catch my speed back up before the 18 wheeler behind me runs me slap over. So down shifting to 4th feels like someone has slammed into the back of me. Brought my truck to mu transmission guy and he said it was a TSB 09-11-5 with the harsh downshift to 4th. Brought it to the dealership where they performed the TSB for $90.00. Had to go out of town again this weekend and the truck is still doing the same thing. Any ideas on what my next step would be? It is a 2009 with 5.4 and 75,000 miles on it.

This may be a useless post but I didn't know you have to pay for TSBs to be done? I thought that was a manufacturer thing. Sounds to me like you got jipped

Especially when it doesn't correct the problem. I think I had to pay since my truck is out of warranty. Or maybe because I asked them to perform it instead of them diagnosing it. Guess that is why everyone calls them a stealership.

They should have looked at the vim number. Maybe it was made around jan. 2009 which would make it over three years old. And outta warrenty
