Default It Happened to me (Violent Shake)

I thought I was one of the lucky ones that wouldn't have any issues with my EcoBoost. Last week I was traveling in a very humid (fog and rain) environment on the highway. I had to pass a car that was traveling about 35mph in a 70mph zone. I tried to accelerate but couldn't not go past 4k rpm or 70mph. After I got past the car (scary because it was only a 2 lane road) I lost speed to about 60mph then felt the violent shake for about a mile. I was about to pull over, but this would have been very dangerous due to the weather and visibility. I regained power after that mile and made the rest of my trip trouble free.

Last night on the way home from work, 7 miles. My check engine light came on. I took it to the dealership this morning to have it fixed. Don't know what they will do and they said it could be a little while since it wasn't a safety issue and I argued that point.

Sorry to hear that man. Despite the issues that are reported, that little motor is bad azz. I ended up in a 2012 with the 5.0 as the dealership wasn't willing to work with me on the rebates and discounts. All said and done with FMC financing I ended up $8k less on the exact same FX2 model with an Eco Boost. Thats the laws of supply and demand I guess. I don't really tow a lot but I love power. The 5.0 winds up beautifully and with the 93 tune I have no problem walking away from my buddies stock FX4 Eco, but man when you mod those little beasts they really come alive. Ford will fix your CAC issue. It is an inconvenience but the boost is worth it IMO Keep us posted and let us know how they treat you with regards to getting the issues resolved. Best of luck and glad you are safe.

The shaking was like that, but the check engine light didn't come on till a couple days later.

I'll keep you posted.

So this issue is related to the CAC? Thought I read one time it was an innercooler issue...

Ecoboost shaking while driving down highway - YouTube
That's insane for a truck to that. I hope the 2013 don't have this issue...
