Default Halogen to OEM HID conversion worth the $$$???

Those that have had these trucks with both the halogen headlights and the newer HID headlights, what are your thoughts on how big of an improvement the HIDs are? I'm thinking about upgrading, but want to hear some opinions from those who have had both first.

Looking at Stage 3 offerings, it appears that I'm looking at $1,000 for stock OEM HIDs, or $1,500 for stock housings upgraded to Hella EVOX-R projectors.

It was worth it. I have had mine for over a month and love them.

I literally just watched some videos on YouTube about these lights and I think the color changing leds are pretty sick. They had an app on their phone that controlled it. Pretty cool. If you have the money go for it. I would

My previous 2012 FX4 had halogens. My current 2014 FX4 has HID.
Major difference. Not sure how hard a retrofit is, but it is a major improvement IMO.

Yes it's a huge improvement.

However, DO NOT get upgraded projectors through Stage3. Their supplier is not capable of completing a safe and thorough retrofit. I contracted them back in the summer and they botched my retrofit...twice. I ended up sending my retrofit to Dawson at Raptor Retrofit for a very nice final product. Nothing against Stage3, but TLF (their supplier) is not worth the money they charge.

Another alternative: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/com...l#.VRPwlPzF_m4

Or - for less than half the cost you could always open, paint, retro, and seal yer existing heads with FX-R's or RX-350's, XB ballasts and yer choice of D2S bulb. Superior output for less . Just add yer labour, lol.

YES! I've never felt so spoiled with light lol. The evox-r is no joke. I used to need my fogs and halogens just to see a little, I haven't touched my fogs since upgrading

I had to drive a u haul about 60 minutes in the pouring down rain last night. I now understand how spoiled I am with the projectors lights. I couldn't see a damn thing.

I don't think you're going to find anyone say it is not worth it. I love mine, as well. Keep your eyes open on the FS section here. You can find them, second hand, for significantly less than you quoted.
