I wonder if the car had been stolen.

If not the case, I'm sure that will be the owners story to the police. Especially if he's talked to his lawyer. I'm counting on the theory that he was drunk.

The police officer and I had this exact same conversation about how the owner most likely abandoned the car and will report it stolen then come talk to the police after he has a chance to sober his dumb ***** up

Get the police to fingerprint the steering wheel, shifter, door handles, etc. If really "stolen" then fingerprints other than the owner's should be there.

This is a likely scenario though may be dismissed if no other finger prints found or some other signs of forced entry and bashed-in ignition. I hope they nail the sucker. This would **** me off to no end!

Good luck FX and hate to be cliche but coulda been much worse!

Thanks for the concerns guys. I won't be able to tar the truck in for almost two weeks do to training. Lord-of-ford I completely agree it could have been a million times worse. If he hit me any other way it would have been so much worse. Everyone who has seen the truck is amazed that it handled itself so well and that I'm doing so well. Btw seadragon that gave me a pretty good laugh haha. I will keep you guys posted on this as it moves along. Hopefully in a few weeks I can post pictures of a nice clean new looking truck.

On a side note.... I was thinking of asking how much it would cost to repaint the whole truck. I would love to have a dark blue or charcoal grey truck haha
