Grinding Noise towards front of vehicle
2014 F150 Lariat (87k miles) 3.5L EcoBoost
I heard a grinding noise what sounds like up front and after researching it; the most common answer was the IWE issues. I had the solenoid and eventually the IWE check valve replaced. It was tested and it held vacuum according to my shop.
However, it seems to continue to make the same noise about three weeks later when we had a really cold snap. I took it back to the shop and of course the weather warmed up (have no idea if the two are related or just coincidence). The system was tested and shows no signs of leaks. Are there any other thoughts on what could cause the grinding? When I experience it, it seems to be under 20mph and occurs when not braking (front brakes and rotors were replaced about two months before). You can feel a vibration but the sound is a low grinding sound. Any ideas are appreciated. The shop now says they think it may be the turbos but I have found absolutely nothing that the turbos have symptoms like I described. Thanks in advance.

Take it to a real shop, that knows what they are doing. The IWEs don't have to grind very long at all because of the poor quality check valve failures and the IWe and the wheel hub splines are destroyed.

Does it still grind when you're in 4A? If it does, then it's not the IWEs.
