Grinding / braking when cornering....ABS?
This is a bit different than other threads I searched for this topic.....
Ive noticed that when I take tight corners at speeds 20+ mph, I get a grinding noise in the backend and the truck jerks/brakes for a second. I first noticed it over the summer when I was trailering an ATV and it felt like the trailer stand bottomed out and dug into the road. But it has happened w/o the trailer, both L and R turns, usually worse if the turn is going downhill, never uphill grade. The tighter the turn and the faster I am going the worse it seems. No issue at all when I ease through turns.
I did just replace the shocks (Monroe Reflex) while not Blilsteins are a great step up from OEM. I noticed the rear are a lot stiffer. The "grind event" does seem to happen more since the new shocks.
I originally thought something is messed up with the LSD, but the more I think of it the sound, and the braking action, could be ABS related. (?)
There are no CELs codes of any kind, brakes are fine.
Anyone else experience this?
I'm wondering if this is just operating normally, and this is the way the ABS is reacting to dynamics of the stiffer rear end with the new shocks
....or maybe I am just driving too fast

update: I noticed the Traction Control light comes on in the 'events'. I found another thread here that speaks of TSB 11-02-05. I think the newer / stiffer shocks just aggravated the situation that activates the TC.
I also found this post http://www.fordf150.net/forums/viewt...?f=69&t=109886 on a different forum, Steering Wheel Angle Sensor being bad causing the same problems.
Anyone know where that sensor is and if it is an easy replacement without risk to airbag deployment?
