Default Gray Substance Under Truck

So I was looking under truck since I've been noticing a low speed grind when the truck is slowing down. And I noticed that there is some leaking around the front differential. Was damp and definitely some oil. So I look around some more and on the driver side lower control arm and frame around it there's little droplets of a gray goop? Now I'm not sure what this is. Any ideas what it is and where it came from. Thick and not like the oil around the diff

Why would grease be around that area though?

It's in several spots around there And not just a random drop or two

Torn CV boot?

If torn it could be slinging grease not the arms.

Was dark out so didn't look really close. But that would make more sense. I ran it in 4H on a back road the other day for awhile so maybe that could be it. I'll give it a thorough check when I get some better light

That's the only thing I can think of that uses thick grease up front that would sling.

Agree it sounds like the cv shaft is slinging grease thru a torn boot or failed clamp.

Okay so I went and snapped a pic and think I see the culprit... You can even see the dark area in bottom of pic with grease on it.. What's my next move?

It looks like it's missing a clamp.

Either the cv boot is cut or the clamp has failed. Need to clean it real good and inspect the boot closer.
