Got The Timing Chain Rattle

Ford should have offered an extended warranty on a lot of things but they didn't. Welcome to every major manufacturer out there.
Drive it until you have an issue or pay to have it fixed.

This is for 5.0nly's 13 Limited truck?
And 5.0nly, I know you like high mileage trucks from your previous posts. You can't be mad when you gamble on 300,000 mile vehicles for cheap prices and then they have issues, that are fixable and are generally a maintenance item at that point anyway. Chains and mechanical things do not have an unlimited lifespan and need maintenance to keep them working properly. It is the way life is.
If you have to spend $2000-$2500 to fix the chain and the truck will run for another x amount of miles go for it. If you just drive it until it literally dies and you unload it for a couple thousand and buy another one for $5k, you break just about even.

Majority of trucks I see with this issue always use motorcraft filters. "Knock on wood" My truck has always ran on a Mobil1 filter and never faced this issue in its 100,000 miles.
maybe, just maybe mobil 1 will stand behind its warranty and fix it for me if it ever happens haha. They say they guarantee their filter and will cover any issues caused by it (although I do doubt it)
but I honestly think this is an oil filter related issue

Never said its filtration but it is another part in the oil filter. I dont think the problem arises from extending oil changes by 2,000 miles. I think its oil drain back when it should not be. Which is why the rattle generally comes after sitting for a while. So it would be an oil filter issue not holding pressure back.

I experienced the rattle with a AC delco filter and oil. I bought it from a Gm dealership and that is what they used. After I swapped to a Motocraft filter and oil, it went away.

I have AC Delco oil and filter on my 2013 as I too bought it from a GM dealer. Looks like I'm off to the Quick Lane as soon as possible.

You must be young. You realize up to the early 80s a car was considered junk once it hit 100,000 miles. These vehicles that easily go 2-300k with little maintenance are a newer phenomenon. Even still the mindset still carries over which is why most cars take a huge depreciation hit once they hit 100,000 miles.
