Now call me superstitious, but with the history of the last truck I am not sure I would've picked "MAGNETIC" as the color for the new one lol. But seriously sharp truck man, I dig that color, congrats

The 2013 was more fun to drive. It was zippier. It had the 3.55 rear while the new one is a 3.31. The difference in driving is probably more gearing than motor.
I'm hoping for slightly better gas mileage with the new truck. I don't hot-rod the truck, so don't really care about more sluggish off-the-line-starts. Probably won't put bigger tires on it either.
The 2013 was a great truck and I was really sorry to see it go. It wasn't the truck's fault, but I was over all the body shop visits (tree branch fell and dented the hood, my son dropped a treadmill arm on the roof, it got rear-ended on the highway and then finally impaled by a loader fork).
The insurance company offered me a cash settlement and I took it to my local dealer just to see what I could get on a trade. They offered a fair number and didn't take much off for the damage. It just seemed like a no-brainer.
I would have bought another EB if there was one available. I was originally looking at a King Ranch but after seeing the interior in person, I changed my mind. It's nice, just not for me. They didn't have any FX4s on the lot, so we looked at the Plattys. I had put AMP steps on my FX4 and really liked them. Nice to get them with the truck. The new Sync 3 really clinched the deal.
The truck is out this morning getting the windows tinted. I probably won't do much else to it. I'm undecided about having the bed sprayed. I also had a BAK Roll-X on it that I may or may not replace. They were both nice mods, but I didn't use the bed that much and the vinyl on the Roll-X wasn't looking too good after 3 years in the Florida sun. The new truck came with a plastic bed liner and while I'm not a huge fan of them, there are super durable.
After spending so much effort modding the last one and then to end up not keeping it....it's kind of ruining the fun. Happy with the new truck as-is and with the 2016 upgrades it doesn't need as much.
I guess I'm gonna have to go over to the new forum and introduce myself. I'll be watching for you guys to trickle over there....

It does seem like FX4's are a rare find, right now. I'm sure the modding bug will still come calling, as more products come out for this body....
Well congratulations on the new ride. I hope to hell, all those dings and dents are just a memory now. You deserve a drive mint truck, for a good long while!
