Got smacked from behind on the highway today
On my way to work, on the local interstate here in Central Florida (I-4) and traffic was doing the accordion thing so I had to stop in a hurry, Honda Odyssey van got stopped behind me but was a little off to my left and the car behind him plowed into him at almost full speed. Pushed the van into me and wrenched it a bit sideways. Nobody was hurt, but my truck was the only drivable vehicle. The at-fault vehicle was totaled and the van had significant damage on the rear and medium damage on the front. Working my way through the insurance hassles now....
Paramedics checked everyone out, nobody had to be transported.
Fire Department made sure to disconnect the battery on the 2 un-drivable vehicles.
The guy that couldn't stop. Air bags deployed and he walked away.
Rigid flush-mount took a beating. One of the bolts got pushed sideways and broke out the housing on the side.
That's gonna need more than buffing, I think.
AMP step still works, but 1/2 the pad is gone.

I would raise hell with amp about that and ask them to warranty out! You just can't buy quality these days. Haha in all seriousness half your ok, sorry about your truck but could always be worse.

I emailed AMP customer support about the bed step and they got back to me in just a few hours. Gave me the part number for just the step pad and I ordered it from one of their online retailers. That's some some good customer support!

Worked my way through the insurance process. The at-fault guy had sketchy insurance, so I'm going through my own company (State Farm). They've been great so far. They are even going to cover the cost for the replace/repair of the aftermarket stuff (Rigid lights, bed decals and Amp step).
I dropped my truck off a couple of days ago at a nearby auto body place (I picked the place). We've used them several times over the last 20+ years and they do good work.
While the truck is there, I'm also getting a few dings/dents/scratches fixed as well (paying out of my own pocket). I hope to get the truck back in a week or two and have it be dent and scratch-free!
I pulled a Carfax on the truck right after the accident, so it shows the value of the truck pre-repair. Once the repairs are complete and Carfax shows the reduced value, I hope to get some money from the insurance company for the diminished value of the truck.
I'm currently driving another Ford (2013 C-Max) that I got as a loaner from a family member. It's nice, but it's no pickup truck. It is surprisingly peppy for a hybrid though. And I'm getting like 39 mpg. That's pretty nice.
I've been eyeing my wife's new 2015 Mustang GT convertible, but she's keeping a close watch on those keys!
I'm really hoping the truck comes back like-new. The pre-accident damage, while mostly cosmetic, had really taken the wind out of my sail as far as washing/waxing the truck. Seeing the dents and scratches up close just ruined the fun of detailing it.
If I can get some pictures of the truck mid-repair, I'll post them. Of course, once I get it back, I'll post some pics then too.
