Yes copycats are everywhere no one can deny that. Most of the time you cant determine who was first but in this instant I know ADD was first as I had one of the first sets of Venom Bumpers on my Raptor. The bumper the OP got is Identical to the ADD. I can see copying an Idea and changing a few design elements but this is appears to be an exact replica. I don't think that's right and if I know 100 percent a product copied or stolen I will always go with the original out of respect for the people who actually worked hard and put in the R&D time.
LMFAO, I respect many people and their ideas. However, When it comes down to it. I will go with whatever company gives me the most for MY money. I'll go with the copycat that improved his idea and offers me a better product. Thats just me though. On another note, not many people know the Lex motorsports story. Get to know it before bashing them. U might be surprised what you learn. Members in a company part ways all the time. Whats to say the Lex guys didn't design your ADD bumper or contributed to the design. I stand firm when I say the LEX ASSAULT bumper is Far superior to the ADD Venom bumper. I am willing to take comparison pics if anyone wants to come to NYC. Call me a sucker if i pay for better quality as opposed to going with the Originator. Just because Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, I'm not gonna go and buy it from him.....Have u guys seen the new LED lighting???? Man i just bought one for my yard and boy are those things bright......

The only flaw on my ADD was the powder coat that peeled off in 6 months. the welds are probably similar on both bumpers but when copying at least change something to make it a bit different. On a side note "LMFAO" makes you sound real tough and mature bud.

I personally like the ADD version better because of how the rear dimples are placed and the top plate bolts on instead of being welded on. Then you can change the color of the top plate with ease. It just looks like ADD put some more thought in their bumper. Just my opinion tho.

See, i actually liked the thicker welded plate instead of the bolt on plate, seemed sturdier when i compared them. but thats a matter of opinion. we all have our own. not sure y everyone is so tense in regards to opinions. I can def see your point though.
on a side note, i meant belly buttons. Not *******s. Don't want anyone getting offended.

The welded on plate is probably sturdier than the bolted on one but I just want the bolted one so I can keep all the panels bare aluminum to match my front bumper. I have ADD's rock guards too and it is fully welded so I'm having my linex guy do a bare aluminum color on the flat part to try and match it the best he can. If I could have gotten a bolt on panel on those it would have worked out perfectly. That's why I say keep the white and make it all match. I think it looks a lot better then black everything.

Just a thought here ... based on some of what I've read in this thread.
Does anyone know for sure if the guys who broke away from ADD to form LEX are the guys who were actually responsible for the design of the bumper?
I ask, because I don't know, but would find it interesting.
I can only assume that no matter who it was, or what group of people it was, that developed that bumper at ADD (prior to the break-away and forming of LEX) ... that the bumper design became property of ADD, as the work to design/engineer it was done under that company.
What I would find interesting is if the person (or group of people) that left ADD were the main players in the design of that bumper, and other stuff that follows that design idea/theme/scheme. If so, I can completely understand them reproducing it, as they probably feel that even though ADD is the official "owner" of the design, that they own it too since they are the ones who actually designed it - aka: they are the ones who's intellectual property is where the design/engineering came from.
