Good place to nab switched power on driver's side door area?
To eliminate back probing, does anybody recall what the wire color to grab switched power and ground for a switch in or around the driver's side door on a Lariat?
Asking because I'm going to wire switched power to a ring light switch I plan to mount on the driver's side armrest through an always-hot, fused relay to run a light bar.
I also plan to run an inline dimmer on the ring light because the light ring is way too bright as my photo below shows.

In my 2012 XLT I used the violet-gray wire from the cluster panel illumination to power the LED in my switches. Using this wire dims the light with the OEM switch.
I also added a resistor to my LED switches so they were not to bright.
The vt-gr wire located here. I have the 2012 Wiring diagrams and can take a pic of the door wiring if they would help.

Ok let me see if I can help you out with this. first I take it your light switch (which is nice BTW) has a separate terminal for the light itself. I wonder if you could try hooking it up to the dimmer switch which of course lowers the voltage. anyway..,. in the door the best wire would be blue for the switched power, it is located at the window switch of pin 1. for the ground it would be black/violet on the same connector pin 3. Shouldn't be had to find as you can just pop up the whole master switch.. also the connector has 8 pins and the blue (1) then pin 2 is empty then the ground pin 3.
