I thought day time running lights are required by law in Ontario on all newer vehicles. Dissabling a safety device is a serious offence. The last thing I would do is advertise that you and the dealer knowingly did this. I wouldn't want to be your lawyer in the event of an accident.

Don't get caught, serious offence

Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 requires DRLs on all new vehicles made or imported after January 1, 1990.

same reason people want to run their locker in 2wd on dry pavement(it breaks axles) or run their fog lights with their bright lights(another obvious safety feature). Or disable their turn signal speaker(its loud so you don't forget its on). Because that particular thing irritates them. I have quit asking why...

I dont get it either. Why would it bother you when you are in the truck? Its not like you can see them.

Every time I think about buying used instead of new, the person you described becomes the previous owner in my mind.

DRL's make sense to me, but had friends years ago that was at the top of their complaint list on a vehicle. Never could figure it out & eventually quit asking why...

I don't understand why anyone would want to disable them. Do you really think someone is going to say "oh my god, look how nice that F150 is without DRL's!"
