Getting My Bilstein 5100 shocks installed today

My truck is at the shop right now getting the front bilstein 5100 Adjustable shocks installed. I opted not to go the full 2 1/2" and intead chose the 1 3/4" position because I still want to have a bit of droop available...Hope this turns out to be enough of a lift on the front. Guess I'll find out in a couple hours....:D

I hope so, soon as I get it back I have to buff out a few scratches that the little black bear put in it yesterday. Stupid bear had to "look" in the bed of my truck and scratched it a little by the gas cap. Bear is between trees, you can see his footprints on the pavement by the rear of my truck.

Waterboy,

What is the part number of the shocks?

I ordered from allshocks.com part# 24-187497 price was $97.50 each plus about $70.00 shipping to Alaska (we always get hosed on shipping to alaska).

I think it was the same bear that got into my work truck 2 months ago. My intern left the windows down for 45 minutes and came back to find this. It was real fun explaining $3000 repairs to corporate office. The entire passenger seat cushion was gone, console tore up, plastic cowling by wipers broken sun visor broken and barely hanging on, and weatherstripping around window frame chewed up. Now our "Safety Dept Head" requires us to carry Spray Bear Repealant ( AKA food seasoning for the bear). Only in Alaska.....

Curious to see the results of your lift

Bilstein's website has average measurements of the 5 perch positions as follows:

Normal
.65"
1.30"
2.0"
2.5"

I went with 1.30" and it's fine, but would be curious to see yours. It looks like it's going to be either 1.3" or 2.0" on these struts.

Additionally, if you post pics, would you get an image of the upper control arm with the wheel pointing outboard from the wheelwell? Thanks.

I went with the highest setting and have the "clicking" at low speed and it stiffened it up a lot. I will probably take them down to 2 inch one day
