Has anyone fully removed the center console? The only thing holding me back right now is the gear select cable. I was able to unbolt the gear selector handle, and unclip the cable holder, but i have no clue how the cable would seperate to allow the console to be removed fully! Anybody???

 

It may be a snap in type of deal. Gently with a large blade flat head screw driver try to seperate the cable by prying it from the selector.

 

you were right....what actually comes off is the "eyelet" which pushes right off of the gear selector. I'll take a pic or two and post it for anyone else who whats to remove the center console fully.

You can actually leave the shifter bolted in place and just remove the cable.

 

I realized that after I just didnt want to break anything since I needed the car for work the next day....I'd love to explain that one to my boss..."well you see, i was taking my car apart and i ended up breaking the gear shift cable so i cant put the truck in gear to come to work "
