Gauge color

Gauge color
My son is looking at a 2014 base xlt. It has white faced gauges on the dash. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t that a pre 2011 thing? It has me questioning if the gauge cluster has been replaced. Also, would anyone know if the odometer info is stored on the gauge cluster, or is that within the ecm module. I’m just wondering if the odometer may not be accurate. There are a lot of crooks out there.

I'm pretty new to Ford, and have only owned my current F150 for six months. I'm not sure if other trim levels did or not, but my 2014 Limited does not have white face gauges. Hopefully someone with more knowledge about these trucks will reply, but I know on Ram trucks I've owned the mileage was stored in the gauge cluster. And when replacing one you needed to have the mileage updated before installation. How many miles does the odometer show? Is this a private party sale? Is it possible that a previous owner just replaced the gauge faces and not the whole gauge cluster?

Does it look anything like this? I think the only 2014s that might have had white gauges would be Raptors, but it would be very easy to tell because it would have either Raptor or SVT prominently showing. Still, pretty sure 2013s and 2014s had the darker color clusters.
In any case, seems like either a custom gauge mod or more likely a whole cluster swap. Having done the cluster swap on my own truck, I know that you can have the mileage on the donor one changed to match your actual mileage. But this is often performed before the replacement cluster is installed.
