However, speculation is, that due to the ME situation, and the potential for it to become more serious in the next several to 24 hours, speculators and reality of supply disruption, could drive up oil/gas prices significantly; as I write this, oil is now at $98.90 per bbl on the world market.
One observer tonight, has suggested gas may reach $5. or even $6. or even higher, in the next few days, depending on how bad it gets over there. My fear was to wake up tomorrow and see gas having gone up a buck overnight!!??
I also filled up, because I am old enough to remember the gas crisis in both 1973/74 and again in 1979; when we had long lines and odd/even days with sometimes, 10 gal. limits on purchases. Those were stressful times.

So why the sense of panic or urgency? Gas has been going up maybe a nickel per day, but those $4.11+ I saw are really high. Even the best Shell/BP gas around here is $3.94/gal.

Every week there's some reason speculators need to raise the price of oil...
Just say it how it is...speculators raising the price of oil...price goes up...they sale...cash in pocket. All I see is someone getting their panties twisted for a reason to make a buck...this way your not mad at them, your mad at the middle east.
Herp derp anyone?

I paid 145.2 canadian per litre for 87 octane in Newfoundland..highest it has been in years. It usually floats between 127.0 and 139.0 throughout the year and it changes weekly. I filled up my 36 gal tank roughly half tank was left and it took $121.00 - 85 litres. 85 litres burnt from 488 kms of incity driving and a few back roads. The truck's computer reads 13 litres per 100kms with about 800 kms until empty on a fill up. I've got a super cab 5.0, 3.55 ELD, LT 245 75 17 BFGs.
My 5.0 gets awesome milage compaired to my 2005 Impala LS with a 3.8 which burns almost twice the amout of fuel a week on the same routes!
