Gas Mileage
What gas mileage are you seeing out of your trucks. I have a 2010 4.6 4x4 and according to the vehicle computer (I know they aren't an exact science) I'm getting 16.8 city driving and on my 1 long trip (400 miles) I got 20.9 on the highway. Are these better or worse than average numbers ? My window sticker said 14/20 so I think I'm overachieving. Haha Oh, also I have about 2,000 miles on the truck.
The best way to answer this is to check it yourself. Some members see different results when comparing the computer versus the traditional way. It all depends on when you reset the MPG reading and maybe some other variables.
Just make a note of the mileage you are getting when you fill up!

I reset at every fillup. I'll have to check my onboard computer vs my own math. I'm scared I'll come up a couple MPG's short of what my computer says..lol But that's the way it always works out. lol Nice truck BTW
That's about accurate. I get around 14 around town and 17/18 on the highway but computer says I'm getting just under 16 city and 20 highway. Gas prices suck and I'm hitting the $100 debit limit at the pump still with a 1/4 tank left
I have 3500 miles on my '10 Screw XLT with a 4.6 engine and 3.55 gears. Before my first oil change, I was getting 20 mpg at 70 miles mph actually fuel mileage. The truck would get 22.7 mpg at 60-63 mph with the cruise set without the ac on.
I have not checked the fuel mileage since the first oil change but will be doing so on Wednesday with a 325 mile round trip.
Keep in mind that our trucks will get better fuel mileage in cool weather. In the summer, the fuel mileage will not be as good because we will be running the ac plus the warmer and hot temperatures will task the engine more and will consume more fuel.

Regarding weather temperatures as mentioned above, I am getting worse mileage in winter cold weather due to engine warm up time, etc. It takes a while until the rpms decrease and the core temp starts to rise. I know you have a 4.6L, but my SCrew (5.4L, 3.31 diff, 4x4) in normal weather conditions and with 10% ethanol blend gets about 16 around town and 19-20 highway. On pure gasoline it does about 2 mpg bettter. Obviously the type of wheels, tires, lift, extra weight in bed, etc. are all factors to consider when comparing truck mileage. I run AT tires in the winter for better traction and the stock highway tires in summer for better mileage. I have found that mileage also drops off considerably beyond speeds of about 60-65 mph.

How you guys get mileage up near 20 is beyond me.
Supercrew 3.73 gears 5.0L - 13-14 in town, 15-16 highway. That is babying it to me, hardly ever crossing 3k rpms.
Makes me miss driving my camaro, 3-6k rpm accelerations almost every time and I still got near 20 mpg ha.
