The 18.6 and 19.6 are strictly what I consistently get when I calculate my mpgs at the pump. I usually accelerate fast, but I make sure I drive a little over 40 so my truck is in overdrive to save gas.
I have recently added a K&N 77-series intake and have noticed my mpgs have gone down. I added a tonneau cover, but haven't noticed much difference with that. I typically get 16.5 or so in the city with 93 octane and edge on level 3. The truck has 3.73 gears.

Make sure it's tuned for the CAI

It's not tuned for it. I just run a custom program on the Edge because powerhungryperformance would take maybe 6 months to get my tunes done and since my exhaust is custom I don't really know how well they could write a tune for it.

That could be why you lost mpgs with it but yeah i went with MPT for my tunes cause the horror stories i heard about power hungry. If your in the market for tunes i recommend them their turn around time is excellent i had my custom tunes in 15 hours after submitting the tune form

I have an Edge so I think it's only supported by Bill at php. The other day I switch to a level 2 tune with 2.25 timing and the power is perfect for the city. Haven't tested the highway but I love it even more than the level 3.
I may go as high as +3, but my truck ran best with +.75 on level 3 so I figured 2.25 is a safe bet. 93 octane at sea level. I will have to wait and see how the fuel mileage works but the intake also seems louder with this tune.
