Default Garbage A/C Thinking Of A Fix... As Built Data

As many of us 09-14 owners have noticed the A/C in our trucks sucks *****. I was just thinking while bored at work a possible REAL fix. It was recently discovered but changing a few codes in As Built Data we can add Navigation, A/C & Heated Seat Buttons, Auto Start, Handle Key Pads, etc.... My thought is maybe its possible for us to change the code for the A/C program to fix out ****ty A/C.

This may be a dumb thought but it should would make a lot of people happy.

CAN A MOD CHANGE THE TOPIC TO GARBAGE PLEASE!

The resistor fix literally takes 10 seconds to install. And it fixes the problem.

I would love to know about this too.

My 2011 was ok on the AC. Not great, or even half as good as on my old 01 S10. But it could combat a hot day while sitting in traffic moderately well. I have only AC on my 2014 a few times now, but each time it felt noticeably weaker than my Eco did.

I was going to try and wrap the lines like is shown in the sticky thread about fixing the AC, but have yet to get around to it. If this works better, I would consider it.

Can you elaborate? The existing thread is too long to read for a 10 second answer.

I have the resistor which helps but it isn't a permanent fix and in long road trips the temps slow go up to where they were before the resistor.

The resistor mod is simply putting a resistor jumping the evap temp sensors to make the truck think the evap coil is warmer than it actually is so it keeps the compressor engaged longer to get cold temps.
