Question FX4 or XLT

I am new to the forum and I have spent the last couple of days searching through the posts. Great information on here!
I currently drive an 08 quad cab Dodge 2wd Hemi, big horn edition. I am trading my truck on a 2010 F150 4x4 in the next couple of weeks and have some questions. I was wanting a crew cab but I currently drive an extra cab model and I am sure I could get by with another. So my question is would I be money better spent on a XLT crew cab or a FX4 supercab since they are about the same in price. Both with 5.4 and tow package but all the XLT's I have looked at have the 3.55 gears and I plan on running 35's so I figured I would need at least the 3.73. I also like the flow through console on the FX4. Would the gearing be very noticeable once I add 35's between the 2?
I also see many people have 35's with just a leveling kit but I already have a line on some aftermarket wheels with 35x12.5x18 Toyo open country MT's cheap because the guy just bought 20's with 37's. He had the 35's with a 6" lift and said I should clear them ok (minor rubbing) with just a level. If they rub bad what exactly will I have to cut on?
Sorry for the long post just trying to get input from current Ford owners.
Thanks,
Zack

Default FX4!

I would buy the FX4 if you want a solid 4X4 platform!

It all depends on your personal needs and wants. If you have a lot of passengers that ride with you or you have stuff that you like to haul inside the cab where it's weatherproof and protected from being stolen, then get a Screw. If you haul long items often or have an atv that you routinely haul (some say that theirs fit with the tailgate up with a 6.5 bed but they would have to keep their tailgate down to haul it in a 5.5 bed) then get a Scab. You should be fine with 3.55s if you go that route. Basically, the 2010 MY 3.55 is equivalent to the 2004-2008 MY 3.73s. With an FX4, you get a locker. With the XLT, you have the option of getting limited slip. In snow or heavy rain, limited slip is better. For extreme off-roading, locker is better. A 4x4 with limited slip should get you through anything a normal person would go through IMO. Do you like the column shifter and possible bench seat up front (XLT) or do you like the center shifter (FX4)? The FX4 and XLT and for that matter the Scab and Screw are both good trucks. It all depends on each person's personal needs and unique situation as to which is the best truck to go with.

I just realized there was another thread on this subject and I went through all the comments posted.
I think the FX4 is the better fit for me. After realizing the XLT didn't have rear air. I really like the flow thru console and I need the rear air for the kids because it takes forever to cool them down in the back of my Dodge now (no rear air). I also think the e-locker would be a great feature for me because my truck won't see much true off roading but it will get muddy just going where I need to unload my ATV. The mud parks around east Texas and LA get pretty muddy and slick and when pulling in 4wd the locker would be nice to get up and down the muddy roads going in and out of the park.
My 07 Dodge was 4x4 and I had 305/70/17 maxxis buckshots on it with a leveling kit and still slung lots of mud getting in and out of the parks and now with a 2wd I just park on the main road and ride the ATV into the park.
