Default FX4 stock projectors - bulb replacment

Im sure this has been talked about but I cant find a thread.
I would like to replace the stock bulbs in the projector headlights with a brighter and whiter color.
I know I like the 6000k temp.

My question is can I replace the bulb with a good bulb from TRS or do I need to get ballest also?

What do you recommend? I do not want to retrofit the headlights.

Go to TRS and look up bulbs for your stock configuration. I believe they are DS3's and should be plug and play.

Yes they are D3S. As long as you stick to that bulb type, you will be fine.

I bought these since they were cheap and knew I could easily return them if I didn't like them. They work great and I bought the 6000k temp as well.

they should be "bluer" but not "brighter". 4300-5500 is the great brightness range from my understanding and the higher you go the bluer you get sacrificing brightness. However I doubt its that dramatic of a change. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I ordered 5500k for my retrofit to match my 5500k fog lights

Yep, correct! Over 5500k you get bluer into purple.

Is our stock setup 35watt? I'd assume so. Anyway to convert to 55watt or would you advise against that? They're bright but sure would be nice if they were brighter

I think if you want to go to 55 watt setup, you have to switch to a D2S setup. EVOXR projectors are a direct bolt in upgrade for the 13-14 oem hid's (still need to bake open the headlights and all that though).
