Default FX Bumper mounted low?

I have a '13 FX4 ecoboost (which I love driving every time I'm in it), and have noticed that the rear bumper seems to be mounted low. If I look at the rear of the truck the gap between the bottom of the tailgate and the top of the bumper seems to be quite excessive (in comparison to what I remember on my '12 XLT).

I took a look behind the bumper at the 3 mounting bolts on each side, and there appears to be about 1/4" play left in the mounting holes, meaning I could potentially loosen all six nuts and raise the bumper to close up the gap between the gate and bumper.

Anyone else notice this gap and the possibility of raising the bumper? Any concerns to take note of? Would the bumper be mounted in other places not so easily accessible.

I don't see a problem with doing that. Just make sure you have enough clearance to the top of the bumper with the tailgate in the down position.

This was the only thing that came to mind to look out for. Otherwise it should work no problem.

Ya that's the only issue I can come up with too. I'll check it out when it warms up in a few months lol
