Ive got this same thing happening on my new boat trailer...
Every time I have trailer plugged in and the running lights come on - fuse 31 blows.

Gotta be the trailer. I'll have to have the boat place try their truck with it again... but the last time they said theirs worked just fine. Go figure.
Im sure i'll be into this for a trailer re-wire. Hassle.

How many running lights/clearance lights do you have on the trailer? Maybe you should replace them with LED's, they pull alot less amps than normal bulbs.

I was thinking that... its got the two standard red stop/turn/running lights in the back, one with a license plate light.
Then its got the 3 marker lights in the back which are required for trailers >80" wide.
Its also got two yellow marker lights on each side, but these appear to be LED already.

The fact that the dealers truck doesnt seem to have problems could suggest its just too much of a load. If the dealer has another look (for a shorted running light wire) and turns up nothing, i'll swap to LEDs. Easier at the launch anyway.

Thank you,
-Matt

I ran all my wiring in plastic lome to keep any wires from rubbing against the metal frame of my trailer.

If I end up having to re-wire - I'm doing this too.

Thanks for the tip!
