I have a 2012 FX4 5L. I was wondering if anyone has removed the 2 plastic bumper pads and put in a new bumper grille insert.

I know you can buy aftermarket grille's, but I have never seen one that is the full-width of the opening when the bumper pads are removed. Similar to the Harley Davidson lower grille.

Seems like you could do that yourself pretty easily, just cut up a generic billet grille to fit with a dremel.

 

I considered that. I may just model it up in 3D this weekend if I get a chance. Then look at getting it cut on a laser or water jet table.

Will let u know which route I decide to go with.
